CALGARY, AB – August 2026 – The Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship is proud to announce Lougheed Wealth Management as the new Title Sponsor of the McTavish Cup, beginning with the 2026 championship and continuing through 2028.
The new three-year agreement represents a significant expansion of Lougheed Wealth Management’s support for Canadian university men’s rugby. After serving for five years as Presenting Sponsor of the championship, Lougheed Wealth Management will step into the tournament’s premier sponsorship position as the competition begins its next chapter under the McTavish Cup name.
The partnership will extend through the 2026, 2027 and 2028 McTavish Cups, providing important long-term support as the championship continues to grow its national profile and strengthen the university rugby pathway in Canada.

Beginning in 2026, the championship is renamed the McTavish Cup in honour of teh trophy the teams have been playing for since 2017. The 2026 tournament will be hosted by Trinity Western University at Willoughby Community Park Stadium in Langley, British Columbia, on November 17, 19 and 21.

About the McTavish Cup
The McTavish Cup is Canada’s national championship for university men’s rugby. Established in 2017 as the Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship, the competition brings together eight leading university programs from across the country for a national championship tournament. Beginning in 2026, the championship will compete for the McTavish Cup.
