The Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship (CUMRC) proudly recognizes the Canadian Rugby Foundation (CRF) as a founding partner and one of the Championship’s most significant contributors since its inception.
Since the launch of the CUMRC in 2017, the Canadian Rugby Foundation has played a critical role in establishing and sustaining the national university men’s rugby pathway. Through strategic funding, governance support, and continued investment in university programs across Canada, the CRF has helped ensure the Championship remains a premier event that connects university athletes to the national and professional levels of the game.
“The Canadian Rugby Foundation’s commitment to the CUMRC has been instrumental in the tournament’s growth and long-term success,” said Maria Samson, Chair of the CUMRC. “Their early belief in the Championship made it possible to create a meaningful platform for student-athletes to develop and compete nationally, while building a stronger future for Canadian rugby.”
The Foundation’s ongoing financial contributions and endowment support directly enhance the athlete experience at the Championship
“The Foundation is proud to continue supporting the Championship and the university rugby community,” said Jeff Chan, Executive Director of the Canadian Rugby Foundation. “This tournament is more than a competition, it’s an investment in the next generation of Canadian rugby players, coaches, and leaders.”
