CALGARY, AB – September 2026 – The Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship (CUMRC) is pleased to confirm that Gilbert Rugby Canada will continue as the Official Ball Supplier of the McTavish Cup for the 2026 championship.
Gilbert has been synonymous with rugby at the highest levels of the game for generations, and its continued partnership ensures that Canada’s top university men’s rugby athletes compete with equipment trusted throughout the rugby world.
As part of the partnership, Gilbert Rugby Canada will once again provide Player of the Game prize packs throughout the tournament, recognizing outstanding individual performances and celebrating the athletes who make a difference on the field.

Since its launch in 2017, the CUMRC has grown into Canada’s premier national competition for university men’s rugby. Now entering its ninth year, the championship brings together eight of the country’s university programs to compete for the McTavish Cup and provides an important pathway for athletes progressing to provincial and national rugby.
The 2026 McTavish Cup, hosted by Trinity Western University, will take place in Langley, BC, on November 17, 19 and 21.
