April 19, 2024 – The Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship (CUMRC) proudly announces the appointment of three individuals to its Board of Directors. Joining the CUMRC Board are Cory Hector, Matt Squires, and Scott Manning.
- Cory Hector – Ontario Representative: With nine years as head coach of the Gryphons men’s rugby program and a background in coaching at the professional and national levels, Cory Hector brings expertise in season planning and player development.
- Matt Squires – Prairies Representative: Matt Squires, a 25-year rugby veteran and experienced coach, has dedicated himself to fostering rugby talent at all levels, while also making contributions to the sport’s administration and digital marketing initiatives.
- Scott Manning – British Columbia Representative: Scott Manning’s two-decade involvement in rugby, from representing Canada on age-grade national teams to coaching at the university level, demonstrates his passion for player development and commitment to the sport’s growth in Canada.
They join the following current members of the CUMRC Board:

- Jeff Chan: CUMRC Founder & Past Chair
- Colin Petrillo: Treasurer
- Gareth Rees: Rugby Canada Representative
- Simon Pacey: Atlantic Rep
- Hugo Montérémal: Quebec Rep
